… things beyond our ability to imagine…
1 Corinthians 2:9a TPT
However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—
these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 NIV
The Passion Translation
This is why the Scriptures say:
Things never discovered or heard of before, things beyond our ability to imagine —
these are the many things God has in store for all his lovers.
But God now unveils these profound realities to us by the Spirit. Yes, he has revealed to us his inmost heart and deepest mysteries through the Holy Spirit, who constantly explores all things. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 TPT
For when you did awesome things that we did not expect, you came down, and the mountains trembled before you. Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. Isaiah 64:3-4 NIV
In purchasing paint for our building, I asked the Lord which color He preferred. I felt He was directing me in my choice. I told those around me, “God said that He liked this color.” I had peace in the decision, and was comforted by God’s voice. As part of God’s flock, my confidence in hearing God’s voice was scriptually based.
For, My sheep know My voice. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. John 10:3-4 NIV
I was confident, UNTIL, I applied the first sample coat of color to the building. The “Winery Red” presented itself as raspberry pink, reminiscent of childhood bubble gum. WHAT! Instantly, the words, “God said” resounded within me. As those around me hurled criticism stating all that was wrong with the color, the accuser of the brethren was quick to smear my thoughts with condemnation.
I thought I heard God’s voice? Doubt glossed over my belief. Yet, in due time, before my eyes, something happened in the waiting. During the drying process, TRANSFORMATION took place. The raspberry pink turned into a rich red wine.
Lesson(s) learned.
1. Talk to God. Include Him in the decision making.
2. Be confident. He is our Shepherd. His sheep know His voice.
3. Listen.
4. Follow His lead.
5. Don’t allow the present “color” that your eyes see cause doubt and unbelief.
6. Trust. God is at work.
7. Wait on Him. His timing is perfect!
8. He will bring clarity beyond what we can see or imagine... a new thing!
If you feel life is presenting you with raspberry pink, hold on. Wait upon the Lord.
Unknown to the eyes of man, a transformation is taking place. God is in the process.
His timing is perfect. Hold fast. The red wine is coming! Imagine it!
Prayer
Father,
I repent for fixing my eyes upon what is before me. The hue of my circumstances has overwhelmed me, shading my hope with doubt. In repentance, I acknowledge my unbelief. Strip me of my doubt, Lord. Renew all hope. I acknowledge that You are within the transformation process.
1. As I invite You in to my situation…
2. I will remain confident in You, my Shepherd.
3. Tuned to Your voice…
4. I will follow Your lead.
5. The circumstances before me have painted over my faith with doubt and unbelief.
Yet, my soul proclaims, “BUT GOD!” "He is at work behind the scenes.”
It is through Christ, in the Name of Jesus, that I take authority, and strip away all
doubt and unbelief. In faith, I decree, “Transformation is taking place!”
6. I trust Your hand is upon my situation. Truly, God, You are working on my behalf!
7. I declare, “Your timing is perfect!” As I wait upon the Lord, my strength is renewed.
(Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly
stumble and fall exhausted; But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for,
and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift
their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall
run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.
Isaiah 40:30-31 AMPC )
8. I will no longer be blinded by the color before me. The process will come to pass in
God’s perfect timing. Wine takes time. Hope agrees. Imagine it!
Amen
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 ESV
Daub in faith!
