Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV
Covenant of Love
Covenant : Strong’s Concordance Hebrew 1285 - Alliance, pledge, agreement.
Love : Strong’s Concordance Hebrew 2617 - Goodness, kindness, faithfulness.
God keeps His covenant of love (pledge of faithfulness) with those who love Him and carry out His commandments. His covenant promise is “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ.
Yes and Amen!
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV
The Lord desires none would perish, but for all to enter in to His covenant of love.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 NIV
He sent His own Son to carry on His covenant of love, rescuing whoever believes.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 NIV
Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:11-12 NIV
For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13 NIV
God’s gift of grace grants covenant.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.Titus 2:11 NIV
His covenant allows us to embrace everlasting salvation.
But Israel will be saved by the Lord with an everlasting salvation; you will never be put to shame or disgraced, to ages everlasting. Isaiah 45:17 NIV
My salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail. Isaiah 51:6b
My righteousness will last forever, my salvation through all generations. Isaiah 51:8b
But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. Psalm 103:17-18
God keeps his covenant of love. For, our God is a covenant keeping God. There is no expiration date upon God’s covenant keeping power. However, man can choose to break his personal allegiance to God, and walk away from the truth.
Some find it foolishness.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18 NIV
Further, some break covenant and boldly blaspheme.
Others speak irreverently about God and sacred things - blaspheming His Truth.
Blasphemy against God can be defined as profound irreverence expressed through a deliberate scornful accusation. The hardening of one’s heart toward the things of God. A heart filled with mocking, disparaging, snide disdain. Slanderous. Such an intentional, hateful, violent outrage against the Holy Spirit will not be pardoned.
Blasphemy
But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God. And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. Luke 12:9-10 NIV
And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit [that is, whoever intentionally discredits the Holy Spirit by attributing the authenticating miracles done by Me to Satan], it will not be forgiven him [for him there is no forgiveness]. Amplified Version
Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.” He said this because they [the teachers of the law] were saying, “He has an impure spirit.” Mark 3:28-30 NIV
Blaspheme: Strong’s Concordance Greek 987- To slander. To speak lightly or profanely of sacred things. Speak evil against. Vilify.
Don’t be so fooled, nor deceived.
God will not be mocked.
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Galatians 6:7 NIV
Sow good seed.
Stay true to the Gospel.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
Romans 1:16 NIV
His Word is Truth.
Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them in the truth [set them apart for Your purposes,
make them holy]; Your word is truth.” John 17:17 AMP
Keep covenant with the Covenant Keeper.
Set apart.
Be found forever faithful.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You that there is no expiration to Your Truth.
It is from everlasting to everlasting.
You are so faithful Father. May I be found forever faithful to You.
Proven sanctified in the truth - set apart for Your purposes.
Though others may mock, I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In earnest, I embrace Your Truth, and say “Yes” and “Amen” to Your covenant of love.
Once more, I pledge my faithfulness to You - The Ultimate Covenant Keeper.
Amen
P.S. Maybe, you have never entered in to God's covenant of love. Let today be the day.
Embrace Him. Be set apart for His purpose. Invite Him in to your life through prayer
Father God,
I desire to be in covenant with You.
I invite You in to my life.
Through grace, I receive Your gift of salvation.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit.
Come Lord Jesus, and covenant with me.
Amen
