Keep unity!
Psalm 133 NIV
How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head,
running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard,
down on the collar of his robe.
It is as if the dew of Hermon
were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore.
As followers of Christ we are to be unified from start to finish. Unanimously,
working together for the glory of God. To be unified in purpose releases the anointing - like oil running down - flowing in the cooperation of one another and the Holy Spirit. Working together. Having singleness of mind. Moving in one accord. Purposed to bring the Father glory.
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:3 NIV
Imagine a three-legged race.
Two are better than one because they have a more satisfying return for their labor; for if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and does not have another to lift him up. Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10 AMP
Bound together by a cord of three strands, with Christ, we are never alone in this race.
And though one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12 AMP
We are yoked with one another. (Yes, even with the people we don’t particularly care for.) Figuratively, like a three legged race, our spiritual walk ebbs and flows. Those yoked together must run in tandem. If they compete, resist, or discourage one another, they are pulled off course. The slightest dissension hinders their stride; thus, hindering the anointing.
There is no advancement in division.
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 1 Corinthians 1:10 NIV
As His church, we are purposed to exalt God. Not self.
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! Psalm 115:1 ESV
From start to finish - may we contend for unity!
Prayer
Father,
I repent for any disunity I have caused through: competition, jealousy, pride, judgement, blame, laziness, isolation, hatred, being critical, bitter, angry, insecure, divisive, self-centered… thinking of myself more highly than I ought.
I repent in any way I have brought about division; when all along, I was purposed to move as one with the body of Christ.
I choose to walk again in one accord with my fellow believers.
( Yes, even with those I don’t particularly care for. Forgive me, Lord. I lay down my offense. Please fill my heart with Your love for those that I have found difficult to accept, and heal the wounds that sever.)
May we walk united by a cord of three strands; unwaveringly, moving in one accord.
A movement that would release Your anointing to flow powerfully through the church, winding throughout the body of Christ, like a river streaming from the throne of grace to the nations.
From start to finish, I call in unity!
To God be the glory!
Forever and ever!
Amen
Jesus Prays for You
“And I ask not only for these disciples, but also for all those who will one day
believe in me through their message.
I pray for them all to be joined together as one even as you and I, Father, are joined together as one. I pray for them to become one with us so that the world will recognize that you sent me.
For the very glory you have given to me I have given them so that they will be joined together as one and experience the same unity that we enjoy.
You live fully in me and now I live fully in them so that they will experience perfect unity, and the world will be convinced that you have sent me, for they will see that you love each one of them with the same passionate love that you have for me.”
John 17: 20-23 TPT
So be it, Lord!
