Illuminated! Let the Sparks Fly!

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great Light; those who dwelt in the land of intense darkness and the shadow of death, upon them has the Light shined.

Isaiah 9:2 AMP

The Lord is our lamp!

You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light. 2 Samuel 22:29 NIV

His light shines in our hearts!

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6 NIV

So shine! For the light within us…

“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.”

Luke 11:33 - 36 NIV

is the Light of the world!

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 NIV

We need not live in darkness...

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. John 12:46 NIV

…but, as children of the light.

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light

Ephesians 5:8 NIV

Therefore, let us put on the armor of light.

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Romans 13:12 NIV

And follow His lead.

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105 NIV

As His chosen people, called out of darkness in to His marvelous light.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 NIV

Declaring, “God is light!”

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5 NIV

Plug in to His power!

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you… Acts 1:8a NIV

Be baptized in the Holy Spirit!

John the Baptist

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Matthew 3:11 NKJV

Peter

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38 NIV

Followers of Jesus on the Day of Pentecost

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Acts 2:1-4 NIV

Peter Quotes the Prophet Joel

“This is what was spoken by the prophet Joel…”

But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,

That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;

Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

Your young men shall see visions,

Your old men shall dream dreams.

And on My menservants and on My maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days;

And they shall prophesy.

I will show wonders in heaven above

And signs in the earth beneath:

Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

The sun shall be turned into darkness,

And the moon into blood,

Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.

And it shall come to pass

That whoever calls on the name of the Lord

Shall be saved.’

Acts 2:16 - 21, Joel 2:28-32

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2:38-39 NKJV

Paul in Ephesus

And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”

So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”

And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?”

So they said, “Into John’s baptism.”

Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

Acts 19:1-6 NJKV

Be careful not to blaspheme the Holy Spirit of God!

Blaspheme: Strong’s Concordance Greek 987 - To slander. (Luke 12:10)

Slander - (Dictionary Definition) The action of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person’s reputation.

“And anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven.” Luke 12:10 NKJV

And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit [that is, whoever intentionally discredits the Holy Spirit by attributing the authenticating miracles done by Me to Satan], it will not be forgiven him [for him there is no forgiveness]. Luke 12:10 Amplified Version

Instead, ask for the fullness of His Spirit.

If you, then, being evil [that is, sinful by nature], know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!” Luke 11:13 AMP

Illuminated! Let the sparks fly!

Illuminated by Holy Spirit, who can contain Him once we are fully charged by the power of God? Let the sparks fly! Penetrate the darkness. Believe! Receive! Release a surge of supernatural power in to the atmosphere. Let your light so shine!

To the glory of God, “Let there be light!”

Prayer

Father,

I repent if in anyway I have blasphemed against Your Spirit. I repent for any slander, denial, or words spoken against the Holy Spirit. Please forgive my incomprehension of the promise of Your presence. I acknowledge that Your Spirit is living and active today.

I lay down any hindrance, no longer allowing Your light within me to be hidden. My desire is to shine brightly for You, reflecting the glory of the Father. I receive all that You have for me, Lord. I invite You, Holy Spirit, to come. Fill me afresh with Your presence. Baptize me with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Let there be light in my life!

Truly, empowered by God, I am illuminated! Let the sparks fly, in Jesus’ Name!

Amen

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

Isaiah 60:1 NIV
