Search Me

Know my heart.

Search me. Know me.

Search me, O God, and know my heart!

Try me and know my thoughts!

And see if there be any grievous way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting!

Psalm 139:23-24 ESV

God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart.

Examine me through and through;

find out everything that may be hidden within me.

Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares.

See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on,

and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting way—

the path that brings me back to you.

Psalm 139:23-24 The Passion Translation

For the heart is deceitful.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?

Jeremiah 17:9 KJV21

“The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful, a puzzle that no one can figure out. But I, God, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.”

Jeremiah 17:9 MSG

Cleanse me.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10 KJ21

Renew me.

May my heart be right before You, my Lord.

Prayer

Father,

Renew a right spirit within me.

Search me, O God, and know my heart!

Try me and know my thoughts!

And see if there be any grievous way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting!

Have mercy on me, O God,

according to your steadfast love;

according to your abundant mercy

blot out my transgressions.

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,

and cleanse me from my sin!

For I know my transgressions,

and my sin is ever before me.

Against you, you only, have I sinned

and done what is evil in your sight,

so that you may be justified in your words

and blameless in your judgment.

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,

and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being,

and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;

wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Let me hear joy and gladness;

let the bones that you have broken rejoice.

Hide your face from my sins,

and blot out all my iniquities.

Create in me a clean heart, O God,

and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away from your presence,

and take not your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation,

and uphold me with a willing spirit.

Then I will teach transgressors your ways,

and sinners will return to you.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God,

O God of my salvation,

and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.

O Lord, open my lips,

and my mouth will declare your praise.

For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it;

you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;

a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Psalm 51: 1-17 ESV

You have searched me… You know my heart…You see through all deception… cleansing me… and still…You love me!

You have made my heart glad!

Amen

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous [who actively seek right standing with Him]; Shout for joy, all you upright in heart. Psalm 32:11 AMP

Testimony

Cobbles That Hobble

I felt lead by the Lord to pray through the above scriptures this week. In sincere earnest, I sought the Lord to search me. Know my heart. Expose the hidden things.

The things: righteous indignation that I had given ground to, burying within me each record of offense.

Throughout the course of the week, the Lord proved faithful to surface the deep things within me. In repentance and surrender, fasting and prayer, He brought freedom to my soul.

In a vision, I saw a plot of ground that was tilled. The soil was dark and rich; however, in the tilling, cobbles were exposed. The cobbles represented concealed offense, judgement, and records of wrong. Some of which I was aware of; others, I was not.

Cobbles that hobble - were embedded - taking ground.

Together, with the Lord, the cobbles were removed…as far as the east is from the west. (As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12 NKJV)

No stones were left to throw!

(The religion scholars and Pharisees led in a woman who had been caught in an act of adultery. They stood her in plain sight of everyone and said, “Teacher, this woman was caught red-handed in the act of adultery. Moses, in the Law, gives orders to stone such persons. What do you say?” They were trying to trap him into saying something incriminating so they could bring charges against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger in the dirt. They kept at him, badgering him. He straightened up and said, “The sinless one among you, go first: Throw the stone.” Bending down again, he wrote some more in the dirt.) John 8:7 MSG

In Christ, the emancipation process is just one stone away as you fast and pray,

“Search me!”

Praise be to God our Savior!
